Robert's Winter Rides

The 2010 edition of RWR starts Monday, November 30th 2009. Riders earn points based on each rides historical temperature (colder = more points). Double bonus points are awarded to single-speed riders. All weeknight rides will receive an additional 25 "nite-ride" points. After a rider has earned points on one of the season's rides, he or she may earn 15 social points simply by showing up to say hi.

Schedule is very similar to last year's pyramid scheme. There will be 50 rides over an 18 week period.

(10) Saturday rides
(6) Friday rides
(2) Sunday rides

Each Friday ride will start from a different location for the 6 week run of the "Where's Herriman's Friday Ride?" rides...

2009 WRCS Schedule

The 2009 edition of the WRCS starts in just a week on Monday, November 24th..

There will be 54 rides over an 18 week period... That's 4 months worth of fun!!!!

Points will again be based on windchill temperature (70 minus the windchill), 20 bonus points for singlespeed riders, and new this year is the addition of "night ride bonus points" (all weeknight rides will receive an additional 25 points)... Confused??? Don't worry, I'll do the math...

I will also institute the often discussed and sometimes suggested "misery points" this year... I would expect only 1 or 2 rides will be awarded this "misery" designation... A "misery ride" will receive 30 bonus points...

50 bonus points awarded on WRCS ride #41, "Freaky Friday the 13th" (February 13) for wearing your bike shorts inside out...

Double points will be awarded on the final ride of the series...
