WRCS Points and Scoring

The points formula is 70 F minus the lowest posted wind chill temp noted at weather.com for that ride, during the ride = the rides temperature points. Double temperature points are awarded to singlespeed riders. All riders will receive an additional 25 "nite-ride" points on weeknight rides. After a rider has earned points on one of the season's rides, he or she may earn 15 social points simply by showing up before or after the ride to hobnob and mingle with the group. Riders are required to complete a minimum of 5 miles to qualify for points. Riders who fail to meet the 5 mile minimum qualification may be eligible for 15 social points. If a rider is physically or mechanically unable to complete the 5 mile minimum the 5 mile requirement may be waved. If a rider arrives late (5 to 10 min) and misses the start of the ride the rider can earn full points by making an honest effort to find the group and at least complete 5 miles worth of bicycle riding... Said rider must communicate his or her wish to earn points in this manner to the ride leader. These "missed start rides" points must be approved by the points governing board. Double normal points will be awarded on the final ride of the year.
